What kind of flower?

Well, this was a bit of an odd quiz, and the description seems a bit exaggerated... but what amazed me was that my name actually means 'a lily'!

You Are A Lily

You are a nurturer and all around natural therapist.
People see you as their rock. And they are able to depend on you.
You are a soothing influence. You can make people feel better with a few words.
Your caring has more of an impact than even you realize.

Intrapersonal intelligence

This was always supposed to be one of my strengths, in any 'multiple intelligence' questionnaire. So I guess the quiz is about right:

Your Intrapersonal Intelligence Score: 86%

Your Intrapersonal Intelligence is Very High

You've spent a lot of time introspecting, and it's really paid off.
You are comfortable with who you are, and you have a life philosophy that you are happy to live by.
And you're always re-evaluating what you believe. Because you learn something new about yourself each day!

Interpersonal intelligence

Yes, I think this is about right...

Your Interpersonal Intelligence Score: 41%

Your Interpersonal Intelligence is Average

You do well in most group settings, but you also need time to recharge.
So while you can work with people during the day, you may crave your alone time at night.
For you, it's all about balance!

What kind of sandwich?

OK, so this was kind of bizarre, but the results were still remarkably accurate (well, apart from the best friend/worst enemy bit. I love tuna sandwiches and don't like ham at all):

You Are a Turkey Sandwich

Conservative and a bit shy, you tend to stick with what you know and trust.
You are very introverted, and you prefer to blend in whenever possible.
Though you may be hard to know well, anyone who does know you considers you a true friend.

Your best friend: The Ham Sandwich

Your mortal enemy: The Tuna Fish Sandwich

What person in history are you?

Thanks to Merry for the link to this quiz.

Not sure that I like being like Catherine the Great, but the questions were fun with a lot of interesting possibilities for each response. Not really enough of them, though.

You are Catherine the Great.

You are very intelligent and a socialist. It is very important to you that all people be treated equally in a society. You are able to fully comprehend social problems and you are outspoken when it comes to dealing with them.

What poetry form are you?

Thanks to Mama Squirrel for this link!

And yes, I suppose if I had to be poetry, blank verse is about right:

I am, of course, none other than blank verse.
I don't know where I'm going, yes, quite right;
And when I get there (if I ever do)
I might not recognise it. So? Your point?
Why should I have a destination set?
I'm relatively happy as I am,
And wouldn't want to be forever aimed
Towards some future path or special goal.
It's not to do with laziness, as such.
It's just that one the whole I'd rather not
Be bothered - so I drift contentedly;
An underrated way of life, I find.

Optimist or Pessimist?

I never can decide if I'm an optimist or a pessimist. I seem to have traits of both. Sure enough, that's what this quiz seems to suggest:

You Are a Realist

You don't see the glass as half empty or half full. You see what's exactly in the glass.
You never try to make a bad situation seem better than it is...
But you also never sabotage any good things you have going on.
You are brutally honest in your assessments of situations - and this always seems to help you cope.

Do you have a big mouth?

I'm a fairly private person so it's no surprise, really, that I got this result:

You Don't Have a Big Mouth

In fact, you like to keep your life very private.
You figure that your personal life is no one's business.
And if people try to pry, they'll end up unsuccessful.
You're a big mystery to people - and that's fine by you!

Can you keep emotions in check?

Yup, I think this one is probably spot on as far as I'm concerned:

You Have Your Emotions in Check

You are an incredibly stable and happy person.
Ever consider being a therapist?
You have figured out how to keep a positive outlook, no matter what.
You don't have an easier life than anyone else. You just have figured things out a little more.

What kind of cake?

Rather a silly test, but fun... and if I must be a cake, chocolate is certainly my preferred option!

You Are a Chocolate Cake

Fun, comforting, and friendly.
You are a true classic, and while you're not super cutting edge, you're high quality.
People love your company - and have even been known to get addicted to you.

Which of the Seven Deadly Sins?

I saw this on the blog 'Good in Parts'- and my result isn't very surprising, I suppose. Enneagram type 9 is generally associated with the sin of sloth. It stands out rather, doesn't it?!

Greed:Very Low

Gluttony:Very Low

Wrath:Very Low

Sloth:High

Envy:Very Low

Lust:Very Low

Pride:Very Low

Do you hold a grudge?

I think this is probably about right. Holding grudges is not one of my problems.

You Don't Hold a Grudge

You're willing to give almost anyone a second chance, even if they've really wronged you.
Incredibly forgiving and compassionate, you understand that people sometimes change for the better.

How well do you know the Bible?

Having seen this on various blogs recently, I thought I'd try it... I was a bit surprised how easy it was, with some of the questions having three ridiculous answers meaning that the only sensible one was bound to be correct.

I also think it's a bit pointless to have a Bible quiz that focuses only on such well-known stories, and then claim that someone who gets it all right is a 'scholar'. I could probably have got 100% on this when I was in my early teens.

But still... it wasn't bad way to waste five minutes:

You know the Bible 100%!

Wow! You are awesome! You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader! The books, the characters, the events, the verses - you know it all! You are fantastic!

I quite liked this quiz, slightly more interesting questions than many. Thanks to Qatar Cat for the link:

I am an

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

I saw this on Dewey's Treehouse blog. Took the quiz out of idle curiosity, expecting the questions to be about advanced American history or geography, or perhaps complex high-school science (and thus not expecting to do very well).

To my surprise, they were pretty much all things I learned in primary school in the UK. Or possibly the first year of secondary school. I don't see how anyone over the age of about 12 could NOT do well in this quiz... and no, I didn't pay much attention at all in 'high school'.

You paid attention during 100% of high school!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Another Jungian/Myers-Briggs personality test

Online tests aren't the best for figuring Myers-Briggs types, but this was an interesting one (if a bit long) that posed similar questions in different ways, and gave results indicating not just who we are, but who we'd like to be and who we're attracted to. INFJ is indeed my type so it got that right, and apparently I'm contented with who I am...

Jung Explorer Test

Actualized type: INFJ
(who you are)
INFJ - "Author". Strong drive and enjoyment to help others. Complex personality. 1.5% of total population.

Preferred type: INFJ
(who you prefer to be)
INFJ - "Author". Strong drive and enjoyment to help others. Complex personality. 1.5% of total population.

Attraction type: INFP
(who you are attracted to)
INFP - "Questor". High capacity for caring. Emotional face to the world. High sense of honor derived from internal values. 4.4% of total population.

What kind of reader?

Thanks to Steve for this one - the result is exactly right! Alas, the nice red bars in the results didn't paste properly into blogger, so it's not so clear that I also scored highly on the next two results, a medium amount for 'book snob', a small amount for 'fad reader' and nothing at all for 'non-reader'.

What Kind of Reader Are You?
Your Result: Dedicated Reader

You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more.

Literate Good Citizen

Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm

Book Snob

Fad Reader

Non-Reader

How's your 'Karma'?

I don't believe in 'karma' as it's traditionally understood. But I included this quiz just to show how wrong many people's stereotypes are when they divide people into 'logical' (see below) or 'sensitive'. Many people are both.

You Have Fantastic Karma

You are a kind, sensitive, and giving person.
And all your good deeds will pay off - if they haven't already.
But you're not so concerned with what you get in return anyway.
You have an innate caring nature - and nothing can change that!

How logical?

I have always been considered logical. I do like puzzles, and enjoyed this quiz, which had some interesting questions. It's one of the things that made me (mistakenly) consider my Myers-Briggs type must include the letter 'T' - which is not the case.

You Are Incredibly Logical

Move over Spock - you're the new master of logic
You think rationally, clearly, and quickly.
A seasoned problem solver, your mind is like a computer!

Socialist or Capitalist?

Some of the questions are American and not entirely applicable to an international audience, but I'm relieved to see that my capitalist tendencies are pretty low:

You Are 16% Capitalist, 84% Socialist

You see a lot of injustice in the world, and you'd like to see it fixed.
As far as you're concerned, all the wrong people have the power.
You're strongly in favor of the redistribution of wealth - and more protection for the average person.
